THE START OF SOMETHING NEW
Becoming that photo editor that I once admired was more of a challenge than I had thought. I versed myself in Photoshop over the summer, created slides to use for photo bootcamp week, and connected with everyone I taught, trying to remember what it was like in their shoes as a new staffer, hoping I could make the content easier to understand. I continued to take photos myself and my creativity flowed tremendously as I tried to find a new angle on every event and every subject I photographed.

With a little help from a broadcasting classmate, I got to assist in taking pictures with a drone at our US-23 Drive In graduation event. To try something farther outside the world of a SLR camera was a great experience, one I would happily do again.
From a different point of view, I have traveled beyond Grand Blanc to take photos in unique locations. I have taken photos on the mountain of Mt. Holly for our ski team, on Ford Field in Detroit for Marching Band/Color guard State finals, in a local Frankenmuth high school for a debate meet, the Fenton Moose Lodge for the local Polar Plunge fundraiser, and multiple other locations.
ATHLETES IN ACTION
My love for playing sports carried me over into sports photography. I went to numerous sports from each season, finding the passion for each game within the athletes faces and actions, a reflection I can see on myself as well. The passion, the emotion, the feeling you get from that game winning run, that second off your time, all of those emotions each tell their own unique story, one that can't be orchestrated.
COMMUNITY & SPIRIT
The power of love and compassion is stronger than any other driving force in this world. The look and feeling of warmth in your heart and filling the soul with happiness, it creates a bond and sense of a community with just a simple smile.
PORTRAITS
Experimenting with the elements in a setting I can control, playing with light, textures, poses, props, and backgrounds helps demonstrate the story I envision, one of my favorite parts of portrait photography. I can create my own world, fill it with my own imagination and ideas, and create a masterpiece that is unique.
ILLUSTRATION
With Photoshop, I digitally enhanced these photos to convey a story in a graphic way, one that demonstrates more of the story and meaning behind the image.
