PUBLIC OUTREACH
Throughout my "yearbook career," one of the most important traits I learned to develop was communication between others, whether that was between fellow staff members, students, school staff/teachers, parents, or even the general public of the City of Grand Blanc. With social media outlets, we find a way to communicate announcements to others.

Knowing the power of social media within my generation, I thought the best way to introduce my work to the public would be through posting on an account on Instagram. Established in 2018, I started with simple pictures I took on my phone of my grandmother's house. I then borrowed a camera from yearbook that you could digitally download the images to the camera, which gave me many more opportunities to showcase my work from football games, school events, and much more.

From a fellow editor and GBHS Alumni, I was also introduced to Google Photos, which allowed me to organize my photos into folders and share my work with one simple link. I was able to display almost 100 photos from graduation to the new alumni, where they got to repost my photos with my Instagram tag. Seeing my own photos popping up on my feed posted by other people just creates this spark within me, knowing that these little things bring me that much further to a potential professional career.

GB.ATHLETICS INSTAGRAM
Our school's athletic Instagram page, made by a Grand Blanc Alumni, gives constant updates on all sports within the school, creates polls for viewers to interact with, and tries to make the page engaging and very crisp with designs.
In some of his posts, I have been mentioned with my photography and edits, which gets displayed to nearly 3,000 followers. This gives me a large amount of publicity and exposes my name to the public, a small step that will become a big leap later in life.

GRAUATION HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
During my time as a first year editor, I spent a lot of my time organizing a folder dedicated to the "Best of the Best," displaying work from all the editors and staffers that reflected the year. While it was just a folder of photos at first, eventually it became a chest full of memories from the year. We were approached by the broadcasting team and asked for photos of the year to display at the graduation ceremony, luckily we came prepared.
The slideshow of images was put on display for all 600+ graduates and their extended families to see before the ceremony began. Hearing those "oohs," "ahhs," and occasional moments of laughter at a funny photo was so wonderful to hear.

MICHIGAN TEEN PHOTO PROJECT
Through MIPA, I was introduced to this project and immediately wanted to know more. I joined a group of students from 20+ counties across Michigan to admire each other's photography work, create friendships, and just take time to relax with one another. Over an eight week period, we had different topics to photograph and present to the group the following Saturday.
At the end of the session, we had the opportunity to display our work in the Michigan State University Broad Museum (with written forms of consent if others were pictured). Here, the work is displayed from the end of May into late August.
