LEADING THE WAYWithin the editor board, we each have our own individual teams, the design team, marketing team, photo team, copy and proofing team, theme team, and others that combine several teams together. Within my role as a photo team member, I started off learning the basics of what to expect from experienced photo team members, as it was my first year as an editor. When it came time for the senior editors to graduate, I stood alongside two other photo editors as we all took over the roles together, learning to become leaders.
A large project I did as I was stepping into my role was our photo studio equipment. Before COVID-19, we were hand painting large canvases for our studio as new backdrops for next year. When the shutdown happened, I took home the supplies and continued to work on them over the course of three months in my garage. We ended up with three floor length canvases that came in white, black, and textured grey.

FINDING A NEW ANGLE
With our school building being closed down for the first semester during the 2020-2021 school year, we had to work our way around taking and submitting senior portraits. We had a system in place for those that already had a senior headshot, but for those that wanted to take one through the school, we needed to find a way to provide that service.
From October 5th to November 2nd, we took our in-between time and took 15 minute senior portrait sessions at the high school in our newly revamped studio. During that month, we divided up the sessions evenly between us three photo editors, totaling around 50 student portraits.
